It’s been a long time since we’ve done one of these – almost two years! This one is a pretty special one to be honest. It’s time to meet one of our first ever whitelisted players – he was in fact #2, way back in late 2019!
If you’re a LC player and want to do one yourself, use the ticket option on the LC Discord or get in touch with a mail in game.

How long have you been playing Minecraft?
I must have first played MC in 2017-18. Nearly 10 years now!
What made you start playing Minecraft?
We were hosting a German tourist in exchange for help maintaining our (very long, very old) driveway, and in her downtime she would play Minecraft in the living room. She let me play on her account and walked me through building a Jeb door. I was hooked!
What type of Minecraft player are you?
We use the following list – based off Mumbo Jumbo’s video – 20 Different Types of Minecraft Player, with a couple of modifications.
- The Gadget Guy (loves making little redstone contraptions around their base to make life easier)
- The Resource Hoarder (everything gets stored in piles and piles of chests, even if they don’t need them)
- The Monument Builder (they always have to have the biggest build on the server)
- The Autofarmer (farms have to have pistons, daylight detectors, the works)
- The Explorer (no set base, everything they have is in their inventory. They just walk)
- The Subterranean Hermits (their entire base must be underground)
- The Artist (all the pixel art!)
- The Competitors (minigames is their jam – PvP, Spleef, Parkour, all that)
- The Code Wizards (whether it’s command blocks or crazy complex redstone)
- The Mod Fans (Vanilla Minecraft? Nah – bring on the mods and plugins)
- The Medieval Builders (villages, ships, the lot)
- The Modern Architect (modern houses, modern resource packs, lots of concrete)
- The Challenge Fan (Skyblock, Survival SuperFlat, Hardcore Mode – bring on the challenges)
- The Long Gamers (using the same world since 1.8 or before – such dedication)
- The Minimalist (a simple house and a few farms will do fine)
Subterranean Hermit, without a doubt. Why build a shelter that costs resources when you can dig a hole and gain resources?

Do you start a world the same way every time, or mix it up?
Same way, every time. I find a nice cave (or mine one myself) and live out of that until I get enough resources for a proper base.
What’s your favourite ever build you’ve created?
The Drop-Pod City I built for the April 2025 creative competition. It took so much time, and I still didn’t finish it, but it was worth it as a tribute to the good times I had on LC.

How many times have you beaten the EnderDragon?
Three or four times, in Creative. Not yet in Survival!
What does your LC base look like? What are some of it’s features?

My base, in true hermit fashion, is built out of a cave at the top of a mountain. I’m trying to experiment with block palettes, and it’s very much still a WIP! So far I have a crafting “Greenhouse” with some Redstone machines, a storage area, and a flat area I use for growing trees and crops.

What’s your favourite block?
Reinforced deepslate. I can’t stop using it in Creative builds!
How about your favourite mob?
Phantoms, from both a lore and nostalgia perspective.
What’s your favourite thing to do in LibraryCraft?
Have a chat, help someone out, just enjoy all the things I can do in a server that I can’t in singleplayer.
