Another month, another bunch of Player of the Month nominations!
If you’d like to nominate someone for Player of the Month, you’ll find the link to the form in the menu option at the top of the site. It can be an act of kindness in the server, politeness, etiquette or something similar. Note that this is only applicable to actions in the server, not in Discord.
The Player of the Month will get POTM role in both the server and in Discord, plus two Mega Crate keys to use in the server.
On to this month’s winner…
We had four nominations this month.
cold_hand They are online quite often and they are always happy to help out.
YanMan_ Yan’s a very fun guy to be around! He’s really funny and great at building. Yan’s just an all round cool and snazzy guy.
Smaug12345 Smaug is always really kind and helpful, she is awesome! Smaug is a great friend and helps me out if I need it.
Ezrafixpros Because he has helped me and many players. Ezra has been very kind and if you need some help he will usually help.
A massive congratulations to Smaug12345 for being awesome! Smaug, you’ll find a chest in the Prize Pickup area with your megacrate keys.
After almost five years of LibraryCraft, we’ve got a brand new logo and we’re very excited! Still honouring the split grass block and bookshelf design, this custom version took a lot of versions, tweaks and changes, but we’re finally able to reveal it. Hooray!
Over the next few weeks you’ll see the old logo being swapped out with the new one. We’re looking forward to it!
Like the AFL, it’s a round robin style tournament that will be on for a number of weeks. Each registered player will get the opportunity to verse each other player in the competition, but there’s a difference. This isn’t just one minigame, in 2024 it’s four – BedWars, KitPVP, TNT Runand Spleaf. Each week will be on a different map, with the exception of KitPVP, which has a new, dedicated map!
Starting Friday April 5th, matches will be played each week, but strictly between Friday afternoons and Sunday nights – no matches during the week, so you can all focus on school! This is so it’s fair to everyone that can’t play during the week. You won’t be able to verse every person on every map, as it’d take forever – if we get 16 players registered, it’ll be a 16 week competition, plus more for a finals series.
Like with our other tournaments, it’s up to each player to sort out their matches. Matches will be available on the LC League Island (image above) in the Minigames Lobby at the start of each week.
If matches are not played between Friday afternoons and Sunday nights, they cannot be delayed to the following week or weekend. The player that puts the least amount of effort in to scheduling a match will be forfeited.
KitPVP Changes for 2024
As KitPVP is now a cumulative scoring system, not per match, it makes it a little harder to set up, so we’re doing things a little differently for PVP. The new map (seen above) called 10Themes Arena will be limited to 3 players in the world – the two players and a moderator. This world is a priority world for the League players that need it, plus a mod.
The moderator will be in at the same time to run the stopwatch and do the count of deaths. You’ll have 5 minutes to play! You’ll also know who the moderator is before the match starts.
Points & Scoring
Each match you play earns you points, regardless of if you win or not!
Win: 2 points Lose: 1 point Forfeit: 0 points
You need to actually play to get a point! The opponent of the forfeited player will get an automatic 2 points.
Once you’ve played your match, it is the responsibility of the players to confirm the results in the League Discord channel, or in an in game mail to Johnsan if you don’t have Discord access.
IMPORTANT: You’re better off playing and losing instead of forfeiting. You’ll improve your chances of getting into the finals series.
Prizes
Up for grabs are some diamond blocks and mega crate keys for the top three at the end of the finals series, and the top two (winner and runner-up) get an exclusive rank on the server itself for the following year – League Champion, and League Runner-Up.
Also up for grabs this year are some JB HiFi vouchers! $100 for the League Champion, and $50 for the League Runner-Up.
Registration
To register, send JohnsanGeezo a mail in game. Registration is free, but you need to be available to play each weekend in order to complete your matches and get those points. Registrations close Monday 25th March at 9pm. No registrations will be taken once the competition has started.
Once registered, you’ll get the LC League Discord role and access to the League channel. The first match-ups will be available on Friday March 29th, to be played the following weekend, from Friday April 5th.
Ladder
The LC League page will be updated on the website that will include the full season draw (the matches), and the current ladder, plus this information and a little more closer to the date.
Last season was a big one (and a lot of fun), so make sure you register for the third annual LC League competition, and ask in game or in Discord if you have any questions.
It’s been ages between these, but we’ve got a new submission! If you’re a LC player and want to do one, use the ticket option on the LC Discord.
How long have you been playing Minecraft?
Back in 2016 I begged my parents to get me Minecraft on my iPad, and I’ve been playing ever since!
What made you start playing Minecraft?
Minecraft was actually pretty popular at my school, so I felt like I was missing out. I also watched Minecraft YouTube at the time. Unspeakable Gaming was actually how I learnt to craft basic tools.
The Gadget Guy (loves making little redstone contraptions around their base to make life easier)
The Resource Hoarder(everything gets stored in piles and piles of chests, even if they don’t need them)
The Monument Builder (they always have to have the biggest build on the server)
The Autofarmer (farms have to have pistons, daylight detectors, the works)
The Explorer (no set base, everything they have is in their inventory. They just walk)
The Subterranean Hermits (their entire base must be underground)
The Artist (all the pixel art!)
The Competitors (minigames is their jam – PvP, Spleef, Parkour, all that)
The Code Wizards (whether it’s command blocks or crazy complex redstone)
The Mod Fans (Vanilla Minecraft? Nah – bring on the mods and plugins)
The Medieval Builders (villages, ships, the lot)
The Modern Architect (modern houses, modern resource packs, lots of concrete)
The Challenge Fan (Skyblock, Survival SuperFlat, Hardcore Mode – bring on the challenges)
The Long Gamers (using the same world since 1.8 or before – such dedication)
The Minimalist (a simple house and a few farms will do fine)
Despite not being a great Minecraft player, I think I’m the Challenge Fan! I love playing game modes like OneBlock and SkyBlock, though I do love regular survival.
Do you start a world the same way every time, or mix it up?
In the early game, I start mostly the same – Getting tools, building a starter base, but in late game, I think its always good to have some variety.
What’s your favourite ever build you’ve created?
My favourite build has got to be the skyscraper I made with my cousin in year 4. It was so tall! It was such a shame when it burned down…
How many times have you beaten the EnderDragon?
To be honest, only once! Beating the dragon seems like such a big challenge to me, so I’m glad I’ve done it before.
What does your LC base look like? What are some of it’s features?
I have two bases in 1.20 – my old cherry blossom cottage, and an underground base.
My cottage has the basic necessities – enchantment room, bedroom, storage room. My underground base is way cooler though, with a big room for storage and smelting! It also has a water elevator that goes straight down to my mine.
What’s your favourite block?
My favourite block has got to be slime. It’s so bouncy!
How about your favourite mob?
Its got to be the squid, they’re so brainless, its like a mirror image of me!
What’s your favourite thing to do in LibraryCraft?
My favourite part of LC is socialising and making new friends! Everyone here is so friendly, making the experience 10x better.
We’ve had a great start to competitions in 2024, so let’s keep it going. March is fast approaching, so it’s come time to announce the next competition theme! Next month we know you all like your movies, TV shows and YouTube series, so we’re going with One Scene. Build us one single scene from your favourite movie or show!
We’ve also got an extra rule for this one too – please leave a sign on your build letting us know what movie or show the scene is from.
Remember, each month counts in terms of points, plus there’s the Builder Rank Competition too – the GOLD bordered plots are for Builders only – do not claim these if you are not a builder. If you do, we will clear them without warning, regardless of whether there’s builds on it or not.
The March Competition world gate – located in the Creative Lobby – will replace the February gate which will close to building at 9pm on Thursday February 29th.
The gate will open in the Creative Lobby on the morning of March 1st, so get thinking about your build! Thank you to Backward_Nemo for the gate build this month! A very appropriate theatre stage! Brilliant.
Season 1, 2024 Prizes
As you know, each month we give away the following prizes to regular players:
Each month the Emerald Points are tallied up and can be seen in the Emerald Hall on the Survival Lobby world. At the halfway point of the season (March for Season 1 and September for Season 2) we give away prizes to the current top three Emerald Points winners:
1st Place: 1x $25 JB HiFi Voucher
2nd Place: 1x $10 JB HiFi Voucher
3rd Place: 1x $10 JB HiFi Voucher
At the end of the season (June and December), the grand prizes are awarded to the final top three Emerald Points winners from across the 6 months of competition. These are the big ones! This season we’re giving away:
1st Prize: $250 worth of LEGO! It’ll be in the form of a LEGO store voucher, sent online. Nice and easy!
2nd Prize: $100 JB HiFi Voucher
3rd Prize: $50 JB HiFi Voucher
The parallel Builders Creative Competition will be judged at the same time, with the overall winner each season getting a $50 JB HiFi voucher.
After a few months of bugs in the old HungerGames PVP system, we’ve changed over to KitPVP. It also brings a couple of new maps, one of them is available now! More on that in a second. The PVP area in the Minigames Lobby has undergone a bit of a change. To play PVP, enter the portal for the map you’d like to play on.
When you enter the world, you’ll be sent to one of the various spawn points in that map with two items in your inventory – a CHEST and a CLOCK. The chest allows you to select your kit, the clock gets you back to the Minigames Lobby.
There’s a big difference with this version of PVP – there’s no matches, rather each player just respawns back in on death. Take out a player to get points, which can eventually level you up. There’s also no upper limit for players in an arena!
If you don’t have a kit enabled, you can’t be hit, but please don’t use that as a way to avoid being killed – play fair! You can change your kits as many times as you like. The kits are pretty great – fun powers like lightning bolts, position swappers and more.
Lastly, some useful commands you will want to know:
/kp clear will clear your current kit, allowing you to select a new one
/kp stats will show your current stats
We’ll get some leaderboards available in the lobby area once we’ve had a few players get stuck in.
New Maps
The first map that’s available straight away is from one of our own – SidewaysPVP by Meowlicky! This is a really exciting take on a PVP map, with a huge chunk of world built completely sideways. There’s even a cave system! Meow has used some structure block trickery to make a horizontal waterfall, and it’s also the best way to get up to the higher areas of the map. This was so much fun to test out. Well done Meow! When you’re in this map, make sure you’ve got your shaders turned off, as it can get quite dark.
The other map is the 10Themes Arena, a modified version of one from online – thanks to someone called _Dibbo_. This world is slightly different as it’ll only be available once the LibraryCraft League comes back for 2024, and will be limited to two players, as a priority for League matches.
We’re still working on how PVP will work in the League, as this plugin makes it harder to determine winners, especially if other players are in the map at the same time. More to come on that!
As always with a new plugin, there’s sure to be tweaks and changes to come as we fine tune it, so please open a ticket in Discord or send a mail in game if you find something that might need fixing or tweaking and we’ll see what we can do!
We’re already a month in to 2024! Time flies when you’re having fun. We’ve had a huge Christmas holidays with loads of action all over LibraryCraft, including our biggest Monthly Competition to date. We got a huge amount of entries for this competition – many of you really know how to use redstone in your builds! It was a great mixture of redstone as both contraptions and design elements.
We also held our first Builder Creative Competition this month, with builders entering their own competition with the same theme. We’ll get to the builder competition after the main competition’s honourable mentions.
Unfortunately we did have to disqualify a couple of entries for not sticking to the rules – one player and one builder, so make sure you read all the rules for each competition before you start!
Let’s take a look at the results for the main Emerald Points Competition first.
1st Place: RubyBird12
While relatively unassuming from the outside, the beauty of this build lies within. Ruby has created a museum of music, with four genres of music created using note blocks! This was fantastic to explore and listen to. It must have been a lot of work getting it all tuned! Well done Ruby. With that win, it makes her 3rd win, so Ruby is now a Builder! Congratulations Ruby!
2nd Place: 0_Mad_0
Mad has secured 2nd place two months in a row with a digital number display and Redstone monster! This was really cool to play with and the use of flowing lava as the monster’s tongue was great.
3rd Place: CopperJay
CopperJay went with a redstone trimmed and detailed mansion! With smaller redstone details dotted around and a striking amethyst roof, this would be a great build to see in 120Survival!
Well done to our three winners! We also had seven honourable mentions this round. This was clearly a really tough competition to judge!

Builder Creative Competition Results
We had two points scorers for the first month of Builder competition! To find out more about the Builder competition, read the post! It’ll also cover the rest of the Builder role.
1st Place: Meowlicky
Meow went with a quartz hall of wonders, featuring a song and a dancefloor! This took a fair bit of work, with Meow logging a big number of hours on this build. We particularly liked the large redstone torch on the roof. It’s very exciting to see builders being able to enter competitions again!
2nd Place: JtripleM
J is back with a massive sticky piston pushing a cake into the air, complete with some redstone wire and a huge lever. The details on the cake really show some freeze frame motion. This was a really clever entry.

Here’s what the leaderboards look like after a month of competition.

In Game Prize Collection
The 120Survival Competition Prize Collection Point has been upgraded! It’s now housed inside Skull Rock.
Instead of prizes being deposited at bases, they’ll all be left at a central prize collection point at John’s Pirate Cove Base. There’s a public pwarp – JohnsanGeezo.PrizePickup120 – that will have protected chests for each player that won a prize – podium OR honourable mention.
Please make sure you collect your items quickly, or you will risk losing them!
We’re already a month down in 2024 and on to our second POTM. This year is already flying by!
We had five nominations this month.
_m1cro_ Always fun to be around and always nice.
THEblossomfallen She is kind, helpful, got a great sense of humour and is a great builder. She helps everyone out when they need it.
ToastTheFroggy_ Frilly is really fun to play with, and we’ve been working together to build our base! We just started a huge terraforming project and she’s been helping a lot. They’re funny, kind and one of my best friends! ❤
cold_hand Cold is nice and plays some PVP games with me every now and then while showing good sportsmanship.
Evoka Evoka is kind, caring and very generous to everyone on LC. They gave me free stuff when I really needed it and they are always welcoming to new players. They are a great role model to other players and I think they really deserve POTM.
A massive congratulations to THEblossomfallen for being awesome! Blossom, you’ll find a chest in the Prize Pickup area with your megacrate keys.
A couple of weeks ago we opened the LC Hermitcraft Scavenger Hunt and it’s been a lot of fun! We’ve already had nine players complete it with more to come. We thought we’d also up the stakes a bit.
If you complete the Scavenger Hunt, not only will you get the golden shulker box full of goodies (check out the post linked above), but you’ll also get access to the newest Survival world to LibraryCraft, Skyland. Thanks to an incredible map by Flamedek_, Skyland is a 2k x 2k floating island world containing 13 different custom islands to explore and build on. There’s also a few other fun builds to find.
To get there, head through the large portal at the end of the Scavenger Hunt! You’ll know it when you see it. Note: Access isn’t an automatic thing. Johnsan will need to allow you access only after you have completed the Hunt.
There’s a few things to be aware of with Skyland:
Skyland is inventory linked with 120Survival, so you’ll have the same inventory – it will carry over between worlds, just like the Nether.
Skyland is an opt in world. If you don’t want to play on it, that’s fine! This is important for the next point.
The void is real, and you can die in it. If you die in the void, you can collect your grave yourself, but we won’t get involved. If you lose your gear, you lose your gear, so be careful.
There are no ores in Skyland. You’re more than welcome to dig and build etc, but ores have been removed. You’ll need to get your ores from 120Survival and bring them over if you need any.
You can claim your builds (and we would love to see some awesome builds in this stunning custom world), but don’t decimate a whole island just for resources. Grab your bulk resources from 120Survival instead.
There’s no bridges between worlds, so if you want to travel you’ll need an elytra until bridges are built. Make them nice though! We know you lot can build awesome things – you’re better than a simple dirt bridge or wooden plank bridge! Show us what you can do.
We’re really excited by this world and we’re looking forward to seeing what you can do with it! If you’re stuck with the Scavenger Hunt and really want to get it done, feel free to ask the team for some help. We’ll not give you the answers, but we’ll get you in the right direction!
We’re a month in! February is going to be here very soon, which means time for another theme! Next month we’re giving the Valentine’s Day idea a twist, with Something You Love.
If you love it, let us know! If it’s not as obvious, leave a sign or two.
Remember, each month counts in terms of points, plus there’s the Builder Rank Competition too – the GOLD bordered plots are for Builders only – do not claim these if you are not a builder. If you do, we will clear them without warning, regardless of whether there’s builds on it or not. This will be the case each month going forward.
The February Competition world gate – located in the Creative Lobby – will replace the January gate which will close to building at 9pm on Wednesday January 31st.
The gate will open in the Creative Lobby on the morning of February 1st, so get thinking about your build! A huge thanks to minywire for the gate build this month! It’s a massive Minecraft themed cat scratching post!
