March Creative Competition – Seasons

We’re moving through 2025 pretty quickly and it’s great to see excitement for the competitions as well as everything else in LibraryCraft! It’s time to announce the third competition theme for the year. This one should be interesting – Seasons.

Remember, each month counts in terms of points, plus there’s the Builder Rank Competition too – the GOLD bordered plots are for Builders only – do not claim these if you are not a builder. If you do, we will clear them without warning, regardless of whether there’s builds on it or not.

The March Competition world gate – located in the Creative Lobby – will replace the February gate which will close to building at 9pm on Friday February 28th.

The gate will open in the Creative Lobby on the morning of March 1st, so get thinking about your build!

Prizes will be awarded in 121Survival.

Season 1, 2025 Prizes

As you know, each month we give away the following prizes to regular players:

  • 1st Prize: 4x diamond blocks, 1x mega crate key & 15 Emerald Points
  • 2nd Prize: 3x diamond blocks, 1x mega crate key & 10 Emerald Points
  • 3rd Prize: 2x diamond blocks, 1x mega crate key & 5 Emerald Points
  • Honourable mention (1 vote): 1 Emerald Point

Each month the Emerald Points are tallied up and can be seen in the Emerald Hall on the Survival Lobby world.

At the end of the season (June and December), the grand prizes are awarded to the final top three Emerald Points winners from across the 6 months of competition. This season we’re giving away:

  • 1st Prize: $250 worth of LEGO! It’ll be in the form of a LEGO store voucher, sent online. Nice and easy!
  • 2nd Prize: $100 JB HiFi Voucher
  • 3rd Prize: $50 JB HiFi Voucher

The parallel Builders Creative Competition will be judged at the same time, with the overall winner each season getting a $50 JB HiFi voucher.

LibraryCraft – Now with Cluster Chunk!

It’s about time we added something new to Minigames, and this is it! Way back in 2012, a Minecraft player by the username of three_two gave us Cluster Chunk. Given that it was over 12 years ago, the game we know and love was extremely different!

The original world download no longer exists, but it has recently been given a bit of exposure by xisumavoid of Hermitcraft fame, when he recreated it for HC10. It looked like a lot of fun, so it’s been rebuilt with a few necessary tweaks for LibraryCraft, and is now ready to go!

But what is it?

Cluster Chunk is BedWars at it’s core, but with some big differences. It can be played solo, or in two teams of up to 4. The classic Red vs Blue!

After sides are chosen, you’ll be sent to a platform in the sky, just above your cluster. Drop through the hole to get going. That platform will also be where you respawn if your bed still exists.

Each cluster is made up of a select amount of Survival blocks. Mine them carefully! There are also zombie and passive mob spawners included, plus regular survival mobs may spawn! There’s some decent loot chests for each team as well – Armoury, Engineering and Alchemy.

Note that the chest in the image above has been relocated to the starting platform – we had some issues in testing! Using the items around you, gear up, make your way to the other team’s cluster and destroy their bed. Every block in your cluster is able to be destroyed and used.

This version of BedWars is a bit more of a challenge, and likely a longer game, so think about your strategies! This was also the reason for us turning Survival settings on in regular BedWars too.

We don’t anticipate too many issues, but as always, get in touch with us through in game mail or Discord if there are any problems, or tweaks you think would be good. This is going to be a fun one!

January Island Results

We’re already a month into 2025, so it’s time for a fresh start with competition! We kicked off the year with Island and we got some awesome builds to check out! With so much height in many of these builds it was a struggle to get the images in one hit, so apologies if the best angle isn’t there!

As always, we’ll get to the builder competition after the main competition’s honourable mentions.

Let’s take a look at the results for the main Emerald Points Competition first.

1st Place: Heebyy_

Getting his first win, Heebyy designed some subtly detailed islands that resemble those seen in Thailand! These were really well done. The gradients look great. Well done Heebyy!

2nd Place: GmanPig47

GmanPig47 went with a series of floating islands that could be a lot of fun for some parkour – one of the LibraryCraft staples! The difference and detail in these was excellent!

3rd Place: HatCatWolf1

Rounding out the top three, HatCatWolf1 went with a some floating islands and some very aesthetic bridges in between, plus a lot of detail at ground level. Judging only went on the floating island part, but it’s still excellent!

Well done to our three winners! We also had four honourable mentions this round.

Builder Creative Competition Results

We had a full podium for this month’s Builder competition! To find out more about the Builder competition, read the post! It’ll also cover the rest of the Builder role.

1st Place: CopperJay

Copper went with a microscale volcanic island this time, and it looks excellent! Well done Copper!

2nd Place: Meowlicky

Meow went with a smaller version of the classic central end islands. This one looked great. Super simple, but very effective, especially with the black glass!

3rd Place: Smaug12345

Smaug went with a nicely detailed aquarium table that looks a little like a map of a world. Very clever.

February Creative Competition – Medieval

We’re already a month into 2025, so it’s time to announce the second competition for the year. We’ve had a lot of action in the January world, and we’re expecting big things from this one, as it’s Medieval. We’ve got a lot of medieval style builds in LibraryCraft – it’s almost a Minecraft staple after all, so take a look around for some inspiration! There’s the Medieval Games world available to check out that should provide some interesting ideas!

December Christmas & End of Season 2 Results

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to 2025! It’s the start of another new year and more fun in LibraryCraft! So who won in December, and who took out the whole season? We went with the December staple, Christmas, and we got some brilliant builds yet again!

As always this year, we’ll get to the builder competition after the main competition’s honourable mentions. This month wraps up the second season of 2024 competition, so we’ll get to the final season winners at the bottom!

Let’s take a look at the results for the main Emerald Points Competition first.

1st Place: yanman_

Getting his first win, yanman has crafted a stunning and very decorated Christmas Square! It was a joy to walk through this as the book at the front suggests, and see everything, from built and furnished houses, empty ones for sale, and people moving in! Well done Yan!

2nd Place: FantasticFun

Rounding out a successful 2024, FantasticFun has crafted a beautiful Castle of the Sugar Plum Fairy, from the Nutcracker! A great idea Fan, this one looks brilliant!

3rd Place: ZacWild5

Rounding out the top three, Zac went with a huge Christmas Tree that doubles as Santa’s Christmas Toy Factory Treehouse!

Tomorrow is Christmas! It’s crazy that we’re here already, but it’s time to announce the first competition for 2025 – Island! We’re leaving the rest up to you. It just has to link back to the theme of Island. If it’s tricky to pick, let us know with some signs or a book and lectern.

Visit the Medieval Fair!

To bring in the Christmas Holidays, we’ve brought a Fair to LibraryCraft! The Medieval Fair is home to a selection of vanilla minigames and it’s open right now!

The minigames on offer are:

  • an Elytra course
  • a Boat race track
  • Archery challenge
  • Hide and Seek in the massive castle, and
  • Medieval Parkour!

Parkour is the only one that is controlled by a plugin – the rest are vanilla only, with everything being BYO – bring your own boat, elytra, bows and arrows. It’s inventory linked to 121Survival.

If you can think of any other vanilla games you’d like to see on this world, let us know! The gate to it is at the south end of 121Spawn.

November Disney Results

It’s December now, which means holidays, Christmas, and plenty of food and relaxing! It’s been a big year and everyone deserves a good amount of downtime. To bring in the holidays, it’s time to announce the winners of the November competition, when you guys went Disney on us! We had some more beautiful and very clever builds this time around, so keep reading to find out who got those all important votes!

As always, we’ll get to the builder competition after the main competition’s honourable mentions.

Let’s take a look at the results for the main Emerald Points Competition first.

1st Place: Kyletendo

Another month with another first competition win, Kyletendo went with the classic Disney Castle, and he did an amazing job at quite a small scale! A massive well done Kyle! You had a lot of people talking about this one.

2nd Place: FantasticFun

Also going quite big was FantasticFun with Prince Eric’s Castle from The Little Mermaid. This one looked pretty spot on Fan, well done!

3rd Place: WoodyToucan

Going a little more off book from the classic Disney animated movies, but still definitely Disney, Woody decided to build a scene from the cult classic Cool Runnings! Really well done Woody, this was a great option.

Well done to our three winners! We also had one honourable mention this round.

With one of the best builds of the year, Smaug went with Moana and the massive Te Ka. This was spectacular!

Also going with Moana, Jay built the Entrance to Lalotai, the Realm of Monsters. The raft is brilliant, and even has Hei Hei! Love it.

January School Holiday Social Session!

We’re nearing the end of the year, so it’s time to get another school holiday social session planned!

It’s the biggest holiday break of the year, so it should be a lot of fun. There’s already players excited about having one. On to the details!

When: Wednesday 22nd January, 2 – 5pm
Cost: FREE!
Bring: Just yourself! We’ve got the board games and some laptops, but if you have your own laptop ready to go, bring it along.
