While we’re officially starting the update process tomorrow, work has already begun on getting us ready for 1.20! As promised, we’ve now finally got a new Warp Ship! During last year, a bunch of players got together to work on a project – to redesign the Survival Spawn area. While it didn’t quite get finished, a new Warp Ship was designed and we loved it so much we said we’d put it in the main lobby. It’s now been done and it looks excellent.
A huge thanks to Meowlicky, Slimecraft47, imaginemode, Jish_Le_Fish, vinemon, qetzi, sirCountDoDo, TYP3D, TheFlamer47, yanabananaa, Lord_Squid and toothless_spy for building this one together!
You read that right! Thank you all so very much for waiting so patiently, but we’re practically good to go for updating LibraryCraft to 1.20.1! The plugins are ready, with only one that we’re not sure about, but all things going well, 1.20.1 will be coming to the server next week, ideally being ready for play after school on the 25th August!
To make this work, the server will be unavailable for play for a few days, from Wednesday 23rd to Friday 25th August. It’s longer than we’ve had before, but we’ve got some work to do! The actual updates, world uploads and preloads, testing, plugins set up and more testing.
What will change?
Obviously, 1.20Survival will be coming! It’s a brand new world, with a brand new inventory. To make use of the new cherry blossom biome, we’ve gone with a Japanese Village style spawn area. You will not be able to transfer items over from 1.19Survival. We’re almost ready to go with the spawn area, thanks to the hard work of the Builder and Mod teams!
1.19Survival will still be available, but play will most likely be all on 1.20Survival.
The Warp Ship will be swapped over for the new airship.
More a back-end thing, but our Holograms plugin will be swapped out for something better – the one we have been using isn’t supported any more!
1.20Survival won’t appear on Dynmap for a few weeks, to encourage natural exploration.
The map will most likely be around 6000×6000 or bigger.
Public Nether and End gates will not appear in the spawn area straight away. These will come in the first few weeks.
The /gwarp 119Spawn will be removed and replaced with /gwarp 120Spawn. If you want to go to 1.19 Spawn, you’ll need to use the gate at the Warp Ship.
Claims will still exist in 119Survival, however if you need more claim blocks, you can either play more, or unclaim some land in 119Survival.
As was the rule in all our previous Survival worlds, you are NOT allowed to claim areas of land to reserve resources. Claims are for builds only.
You are also not allowed to claim any areas of villages or Ancient Cities. Villages and Cities are for everyone to enjoy.
Remember, if you find yourself unwhitelisted next week, don’t panic! Just be patient, and check the website, and Discord if you have it. Bring on 1.20 and all the new stuff!
Our next creative competition comes with a special partner organisation and some extra prizes!
The WA Government’s Future of Fremantle project has joined forces with LibraryCraft to get some inspiration for Fremantle’s waterfront. Your mission is to let us know what your ideal waterfront would look like, using as many innovative and big ideas as your creative forces will allow.
In addition to the regular Emerald Points prizes, extra prizes will be awarded during this competition for the three most innovative, creative and exciting builds.
1st Prize: $150 JB HiFi Gift card 2nd Prize: $125 JB HiFi Gift card 3rd Prize: $75 JB HiFi Gift Card
Each build also has to include the following:
Access to the waterfront
Use the water and the land (each plot will be a waterbased plot – it’s up to you to add the land!)
Include greenery
Include an iconic feature
The September Comp world gate – located in the Creative Lobby – will replace the August gate which will close to building at 9pm on Thursday August 31st.
The gate will open in the Creative Lobby on the morning of September 1st, so get thinking about your build!
Season 2 Prizes
As you know, each month we give away the following prizes, now with the new inclusion:
Each month the Emerald Points are tallied up and can be seen in the Emerald Hall on the Survival Lobby world. At the halfway point of the season (March for Season 1 and September for Season 2) we give away prizes to the current top three Emerald Points winners:
1st Place: 1x $25 JB HiFi Voucher
2nd Place: 1x $10 JB HiFi Voucher
3rd Place: 1x $10 JB HiFi Voucher
At the end of the season (June and December), the grand prizes are awarded to the final top three Emerald Points winners from across the 6 months of competition. These are the big ones! This season we’re giving away:
1st Prize: $250 worth of LEGO! It’ll be in the form of a LEGO store voucher, sent online. Nice and easy!
Our fourth Annual Report, for 2022/23 is now available! Click the image below to download a copy. Thanks again to everyone for your support of the program! It’s been another exciting year of growth and loads of fun. We’re looking forward to seeing what comes in the next 12 months!
It’s time to announce the winners for July’s Monsters competition, which also happens to be the first month of the new season and the first month where honourable mentions get a point!
1st Place: Smaug12345
True to the name, Smaug has created this stunning sleeping dragon with treasure! I particularly loved the smoke coming out of the nostrils. Covering the dragon is a huge mountain with a massive gate. Congratulations on the first win Smaug!
2nd Place: Meowlicky
The texturing in the waves here by Meowlicky is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It’s stunning!
3rd Place: LoneLittle_
Lastly, LoneLittle_ has created some imposing looking monsters, complete with pointed dripstone as teeth.
Well done to our three winners! We also had four honourable mentions this round, so four more points scorers for the leaderboard!

In Game Prize Collection
A Competition Prize Collection Point has been set up in 119Survival! Instead of prizes being deposited at bases, they’ll all be left at a central prize collection point at my 119Survival Base. There’s a public pwarp – JohnsanGeezo.CompCollectionPoint – that will have protected chests for each player that won a prize – podium OR honourable mention.
Once you have collected your prize, please turn the light off. The redstone torches indicate that you have a previous prize to collect.
Please make sure you collect your items quickly, or you will risk losing them! All items from the previous competition have been cleared out.
The Evaluation Survey for 2023 is closed, and we got some more great feedback, so thank you to everyone that completed it! We’ll be going through the feedback and getting back to a few people for some more information. We’ll also update everyone on our plans when we’re able to.
We have chosen our three winners though – these players will each get a netherite ingot, a diamond block and two mega crate keys in 120Survival, when that’s ready to go.
The winners are Noodles, Ezrafixpros and sirRubyBird12! Congratulations! When the world is ready to go and you have a base location, let us know the coordinates and we’ll leave a present for you!
Its time for a round two in Season two! This time we’re asking you to reimagine an existing Minecraft structure. There’s plenty of structures around – desert temples, villages, even the new trail ruins – we want to know what you think they should look like!
The August Comp world gate – located in the Creative Lobby – will replace the July gate which will close to building at 9pm on Monday July 31st.
The gate will open in the Creative Lobby on the morning of August 1st, so get thinking about your build! A huge thanks to Kisney and sirCountDoDo for partnering up on the gate build this month, with a very unique desert well. There’s even some lore inside!

On to the results for June first!
1st Place: RatherQuenched
Getting his second win, RQ has gone with something I reckon really appealed to a lot of us as gamers – a big Wii Sport TV and very nice cabinet! I especially liked the LC and LibraryCraft logos in the cabinets. Congratulations RQ!
2nd Place: sirRubyBird12
Ruby went with a combination of pixel art and building, with her birds playing soccer! I love it!
3rd Place: Meowlicky
Lastly, while it’s unfinished, Meow went with a racetrack, complete with the lights to start and the checkered flag.
Well done to our three winners! We also had one honourable mention this round too – MegRose.

We’re happy to just see what happens.
Where: Fremantle Library When: Tuesday 11th July, 1 – 5pm Bring: Just yourself! We’ve got the board games and some laptops, but if you have a board game you’re desperate to play, or your own laptop ready to go, bring it along.
