LibraryCraft has been busy with the introduction of 121Survival, but we’re still going with these! During October we’re asking you to build something themed around Gods and Goddesses. They can be Greek, Norse, whatever mythology you choose. Let us know with a sign on the corner of your plot with your chosen god or goddess.
Remember, each month counts in terms of points, plus there’s the Builder Rank Competition too – the GOLD bordered plots are for Builders only – do not claim these if you are not a builder. If you do, we will clear them without warning, regardless of whether there’s builds on it or not.
The October Competition world gate – located in the Creative Lobby – will replace the September gate which will close to building at 9pm on Monday September 31st.
The gate will open in the Creative Lobby on the morning of October 1st, so get thinking about your build!
Prizes will be awarded in 121Survival from now on – podium players might even score an elytra from the Megacrate!
Season 2, 2024 Prizes
As you know, each month we give away the following prizes to regular players:
Each month the Emerald Points are tallied up and can be seen in the Emerald Hall on the Survival Lobby world.
At the end of the season (June and December), the grand prizes are awarded to the final top three Emerald Points winners from across the 6 months of competition. This season we’re giving away:
1st Prize: $250 worth of LEGO! It’ll be in the form of a LEGO store voucher, sent online. Nice and easy!
2nd Prize: $100 JB HiFi Voucher
3rd Prize: $50 JB HiFi Voucher
The parallel Builders Creative Competition will be judged at the same time, with the overall winner each season getting a $50 JB HiFi voucher.
In all the craziness of 121Survival being released, we forgot to post the results of August’s Impossible Creatures competition!! So who won? Read on!
As always this year, we’ll get to the builder competition after the main competition’s honourable mentions.
Let’s take a look at the results for the main Emerald Points Competition first.
1st Place: ZacWild5
Getting two wins in a row, Zac created the Gocaw – a Goat and Macaw hybrid.
Location: Africa During the Winter, the Gocaw uses the strength of a goat to create warm dens and collect food high in the mountains. During the Summer, it uses it’s Macaw wings to migrate to colder areas of the continent. This is because the Gocaw cannot survive in hot temperatures due to its adaptation to cold environments. What you see in the image before you is a Gocaw about to take off for his Summer migration.
Very creative and well thought out Zac!
2nd Place: RoseBlossom_
Getting back to back to back 2nd place! Nice Rose!
Whilst looks may deceive, the icy dragon/falcon has taken the predatory mind of the falcon and the scaly exterior of a winged beast and loves to hoard gold and make nests up high.
The decorations were lovely!
3rd Place: EnderKitty543
Rounding out the top three again, EnderKitty went with a smaller build, although no sign was left, so we aren’t sure what combination it is!
Well done to our three winners! We also had fourhonourable mentions this round.
Kyletendo
WoodyToucan
KuruTrancy
The bunny bat – it evolved from a rabbit to gain batlike attributes to hunt it’s prey – birds.
Doomwet
Builder Creative Competition Results
We had three points scorers for this month’s Builder competition! To find out more about the Builder competition, read the post! It’ll also cover the rest of the Builder role.
1st Place: CopperJay
Jay went with a Chameligoat!
Chameligoats: Chameleon + Goat Status: Endangered Habitat in the wild: Tropical rainforests and tall hills
Chameligoats are small, chameleon-like reptiles with large goat horns on their head. They are popular for eating mosquitoes, flies and other bugs, and are kept as pets in many homes. They have inherited traits from both goats and chameleons. From chameleons, they inherited most of their looks, and their appetite for bugs. From goats, they gain their horns and an insatiable appetite for eating everything (but bugs are the only things big enough to fit inside their mouths.
Their babies are born from eggs, and after being born, take a year to fully develop into adults.
They are endangered because of many people killing them for their horns in the 1800s. Since then the population has increased by a lot, with Chameligoat hunting being banned.
2nd Place: Smaug12345
Smaug created and perfectly styled the Peacat – a peacock/cat hybrid.
Scientific Name This is a peacock/cat hybrid so I decided to come up with a name that combined felis catus (domesticated cat) with pavo cristasus (crested peacock), and this was the result – pavo felis catus Cristasus.
Purpose It is an aesthetically pleasing companion with vibrant plumage and is capable of flight. It’s appearance is so stunning that it can literally stun its prey, making it the perfect hunting companion too!
Where can it be found? Nobody knows.
3rd Place: toothless_spy
Although toothless is an inactive builder now, he can still compete in the builder competition, but starts with a 15 point deficit. Toothless created the Spark!
Spark: Conquers the land and sea, nearly unstoppable shark spider hybrid used for exploration and battle superiority. Able to take on whole warships.
We were really impressed with the thought processes behind these builds! They were a lot of fun to read about! Well done everyone!

Congratulations to all our winners and entries! Prizes will be able to be collected from the new Prize Greenhouse at 121Spawn as soon as you read this.
In Game Prize Collection
The 121Survival Competition Prize Collection Point is housed inside the large greenhouse just at the west end of 121Spawn.
It will have protected chests for each player that won a prize – podium OR honourable mention.
Please make sure you collect your items quickly, or you will risk losing them!
Sorry players! We’ve decided to lock off the server tonight so we can expand the 121Survival world. We realised we didn’t have a badlands, warm ocean or desert! We’ll be expanding the world to include them.
We’re only a day into 1.21Survival and there’s already a big buzz of excitement with a new map and everything it brings! Now that we’re under way, it’s time to introduce the Chamber Cave.
As we’ve said before, nine trial chambers close to spawn have been protected from destruction and can be run when you like, but first they need to be unlocked! In these protected chambers, you won’t be able to place or break blocks, but will be able to interact with the mobs and vaults.
Located at 121Spawn, the Chamber Cave contains the gates to these nine trial chambers, but they’re not open yet. For each chamber gate, 12 players will need to submit items from a specific theme. Some will be easy to gather, others harder. Once the submissions from each player have been fulfilled correctly, the gate will be opened by staff for the trial chamber to be played! The next gate’s items will then be published not long after.
Check the gate frame for the ingredients you’ll need to submit. The player indicators will be updated regularly so you know who is submitting items, and if they’re done.
Rules:
Don’t submit more than you need to! It’ll just be wasted.
Each player should only submit when you have ALL the items you need to submit yourself. It makes it easier for the mod team to manage!
Don’t submit wrong items.
Players cannot submit more than one lot.
As an example, the first gate has the theme of Agriculture!
12 players will need to submit the following EACH:
10 Copper blocks
20x Hay blocks
30 Bamboo
30 Pumpkins OR 20 Melons
So collect everything you need, head to the Chamber Cave and drop them in the chest in the centre. Once 12 players have submitted everything they need, the gate will open and the trial chamber will be able to be run!
Yep! We’re updated and ready to go! It’s been a bit of a longer process this time around, but it’s sure to be worth it. Please note that we’re on version 1.21, not 1.21.1. That’ll come soon, as we’re still waiting on a few plugins to sort themselves out.
There’s a couple of little things we’re still preparing and there’s going to be some teething issues from time to time, so please be patient with us. The most important thing you can do is tell us! If you see something that’s not quite right, please let us know in a Discord ticket, or in game if you don’t have Discord.
A few things to note:
The Netherwill not be accessible yet – just settle in and explore the map. Find a spot to build and get a bit of a plan together! We’ve not set a date for the Nether or the End yet. This is to stop speedrunners and encourage everyone to take their time. They’ll come, but give them time.
The /tpr command, the Daily and Mega crates are set up and ready to go in 1.21 Survival, but we can only have one world with them, so they will no longer work in 1.20 Survival.
We’ve got a few new things to announce too! Firstly, the old CustomHeads plugin hasn’t been updated in some time, so we’ve replaced it with a new one. The command to get your custom heads is now /headdb. The old /heads command should now be blocked. You can also do a search for a head by using /hdb s to find the head you want! There’s over 50,000 to choose from.
We’ve started work on the Trade Hall (located in the heart of the Spawn area this time), but we’re not quite ready to go with it yet. It’s going to be opening in the next few weeks.
New to 1.21Survival, you’re now able to bottle your XP! More information on that is available at 121Spawn.
Both the Daily and Mega Crates have had some changes to them, with some big new additions! There’s even a chance to get an elytra in the Mega Crate!
We’re wanting to encourage building bases closer to 121Spawn this time around, but we ask that you don’t create pointless pillars nearby – they impact screenshots that we take during the course of the year for promotion. If you’re building closer to spawn, take your time with your bases and make them look amazing! We know you can. We’ll be creating some pathways that lead directly into Spawn.
Lastly, we’ve claimed the closest nine Trial Chambers so they don’t get decimated by players wanting Copper. Copper is easy to get, so just get it the old fashioned way – leave Trial Chambers alone to be run by others again and again. The nine claimed Trial Chambers will be available to play, but we’ve included an interesting Survival based unlock mechanic. This will be open in the coming days!
Finally, a massive thanks to the build team for creating our new Amsterdam inspired 121Spawn! A huge shout out to Meowlicky, CopperJay & JohnsanGeezo for getting stuck in. It looks insane! Easily our best spawn yet. Extra thanks to Meowlicky for getting the design and layout started!
Always popular, we’ve decided to do not one, but two school holiday social sessions this time around! One at Fremantle in week one of the school holidays, and the second one at Victoria Park Public Library! That one will be a little different…
The good news is that by the time these roll around, we should be well and truly on 1.21.1. A new Survival world to get stuck into!
Fremantle Library – Week 1
First up, we’ll be hanging out on Tuesday 24th September from 2 – 5pm at Fremantle Library! That one will be a social session like we’re used to – a few laptops for jumping in game, board games and just space to hang out.
With the Fremantle event, please tell us in a mail or in Discord if you plan on coming so we can get an idea of how many people to expect.
Where: Fremantle Library When: Tuesday 24th September, 2 – 5pm Cost: FREE! Bring: Just yourself! We’ve got the board games and some laptops, but if you have your own laptop ready to go, bring it along.
Victoria Park Library – Week 2
In the second week of the school holidays we’ll be heading down to the Victoria Park Public Library to hang out there! This one is a little different, with bookings being essential, a small cost set by the library, and a tour happening for new people interested in joining the server.
Where: Victoria Park Public Library When: Tuesday 1st October, 10am – 12 noon Cost: $3 Bookings Essential
John will be doing a bit of a server tour for new families wanting to join and there’ll be some laptops available for people to try their hands at some creative building in a special world in the server. It’s a shorter session, but this one will be focusing on the new players coming in.
Either way, they’re going to be a lot of fun! See you there!
That’s correct! Thank you all so very much for waiting so patiently, we’re pretty much good to go on finally updating LibraryCraft to 1.21! The plugins are ready (with a few changes having to come in the background) plus 121Spawn almost read to go, but all things going well, 1.21 will be coming to the server in just over a week, ideally being ready for play on the 19th September! Just in time for school holidays.
To make this work, the server will be unavailable for play, likely for a few days, from Monday 16th to Wednesday 18th August. It’s longer than we’ve had before, but we’ve got some work to do! The actual updates, world uploads and preloads, testing, plugins set up and more testing. Hopefully we’re quicker a little faster, but that’s what we’ve decided so far.
What will change?
Obviously, we’ve got 121Survival! It’s a brand new world, with a brand new inventory. This time around we’ve gone with a sprawling Amsterdam spawn area. It takes up a large space, but all of the important stuff is close by, after some valuable feedback from players. A huge thanks to Meowlicky, CopperJay, Nemo and JohnsanGeezo for putting this together. It’s looking like one of the best spawn areas yet!
You will not be able to transfer items over from 120Survival. Like normal, the world will be completely separate.
120Survival will still be available, but play will most likely be all on 121Survival. 119Survival, Skyland and OldSurvival will be backed up and removed.
1.21Survival won’t appear on Dynmap for a few weeks, to encourage natural exploration.
The map will most likely be around 10000×10000, the same as 120Survival.
The Nether and the End will be blocked from access for a week or two at the start, to discourage people from speedrunning. Take your time! It’s a long season.
Public Nether and End gates will not appear in the spawn area straight away. These will come in the first few weeks. These will be housed in separate buildings right at Spawn.
The /gwarp 120Spawn will be removed and replaced with /gwarp 121Spawn. If you want to go to 1.20 Spawn, you’ll need to use the gate at the Warp Ship.
Claims will still exist in 120Survival, however if you need more claim blocks, you can either play more (as you earn more blocks the more you play), or unclaim some land in 120Survival.
As was the rule in all our previous Survival worlds, you are NOT allowed to claim areas of land to reserve resources for collection later. Claims are for builds only.
You are also not allowed to claim any villages, Trial Chambers or Ancient Cities. These are for everyone to enjoy.
We will be protecting the trial chambers closer to spawn, to stop people destroying them in order to get the new copper and tuff blocks. We’re still figuring out the final rules for the trial chambers, so more info to come on them. One thing we do know is that you will not be allowed to destroy the trial spawners at all. Leave them there so players can redo the trial chambers.
Remember, if you find yourself unwhitelisted from the 16th, don’t panic! Just be patient, and check the website, and Discord if you have it. Bring on 1.21 and all the new stuff!
We missed it last month, so let’s get back into choosing a new Player of the Month.
If you’d like to nominate someone for Player of the Month, you’ll find the link to the form in the menu option at the top of the site. It can be an act of kindness in the server, politeness, etiquette or something similar. Note that this is only applicable to actions in the server, not in Discord.
The Player of the Month will get POTM role in both the server and in Discord, plus two Mega Crate keys to use in the server’s current Survival world.
On to this month’s winner…
We had three nominations for this month.
_Heebyy Snake is very awesome, nice and helps loads of people! They always have nice conversations with people and are very helpful! Snake deserves POTM!
Evoka They are a fun and playful person to be on the server with, always happy to help out or play games. They really have earned the player of the month award in my eyes.
RoseBlossom_ Rose is always nice and very helpful to everyone, always a good sport in mini games and overall a strong contender for player of the month in my humble opinion
A huge congratulations to _Heebyy for being awesome! You’ll find a chest in the Prize Pickup area with your megacrate keys.
Another month down! It’s already getting nearer to the end of the year. It’s just flying by! After a special theme last month, we’re going with Games! We all love playing them, either in the digital form, plus board and card games, so we want to see how you go with building them! Let us know with a sign on the corner of your plot with the name of your game too.
Remember, each month counts in terms of points, plus there’s the Builder Rank Competition too – the GOLD bordered plots are for Builders only – do not claim these if you are not a builder. If you do, we will clear them without warning, regardless of whether there’s builds on it or not.
The September Competition world gate – located in the Creative Lobby – will replace the August gate which will close to building at 9pm on Saturday August 31st.
The gate will open in the Creative Lobby on the morning of September 1st, so get thinking about your build!
A big thanks to Backward_Nemo for the gate build this time around. It’s perfect!

Let’s take a look at the results for the main Emerald Points Competition first.

Scoring his first win, Zac opted for a twist on the theme, making “The Greatest Bookshop in the World”. This was a beautifully designed build that is nothing short of spectacular inside! Well done Zac! This was a beauty.
2nd Place: RoseBlossom_
Getting back to back 2nd place, Rose created a double sided build based on All The Light We Cannot See. It’s very well done!
3rd Place: EnderKitty543
