Nemo’s Forgotten Desert Labyrinth has been discovered!

A huge discovery has been found in 121Survival! Long thought as being lost, the Forgotten Desert Labyrinth of the Great Nemo has been discovered in a distant desert and it contains many hints to incredible treasures. Luckily for you, intrepid explorer, a map of the intricate tunnels in the labyrinth has been laid out. The question is, are you able to find the three clues needed to locate the treasure? To get there, take the gate next to the wheat fields at 121Spawn. A MASSIVE thanks to Backward_Nemo for creating this masterpiece, from the Legend of Zelda!

It’s important that before wandering in to the labyrinth you have a pen and paper with you, or something to take notes with, as the labyrinth is vast and it will be easy to get lost!

Hidden through the labyrinth are three clues. These clues will ask you to locate certain items or scenes throughout the LibraryCraft server. Nearby to these items or scenes will be a code word. The clues need to be written down first, so you can go to them once you have completed the Desert Labyrinth. Don’t leave part way through – the Labyrinth is a mysterious place full of magic! It’s best to complete it first, writing down the clues as you go, to find them later.

Once you have found the items or scenes, locate the code word near to it and write them down carefully – these will be the keys to the treasure! Beware though – there are three clues, but six locations and code words to find.

The three clues are hidden all through the maze, but in order to escape the first level of the maze, you’ll need to get to the centre, where the Great Nemo himself is stood. The second level of the maze is clearly a challenge, but you’ll be able to see through it soon enough, so chin up! Once you are out of the second level, you will find a final code word on a scrap of paper, obtained with a simple button press.

In order to successfully complete the Labyrinth challenge and claim your prize, you will need to submit the SEVEN code words (six locations around the server plus the word on the paper) via a /mail to JohnsanGeezo, the keeper of the Labyrinth.

But what is this treasure I hear you ask? It is treasure fit for the gods!

For members of the main LibraryCraft realm, a treasure box of valuable riches and power – sources of light and noise, natural wonders, ores and riches, armour for your trusted steed, a valued template for the smiths among you, and the mightiest treasure of all – a hammer forged from the trial chambers of the depths.

For members of the newly founded LC Modded realm, a separate box of wonders critical to survival in the harsh sky landscape. Wings, the valued inferium essence, some humble eggs, ores and riches, a cake (simple, yet wondrous), beehives with bees, and a hammer forged from platinum.

So here’s the steps you need to take:

  1. Get a pen and paper (or something to take notes with)
  2. Head to the labyrinth and head inside
  3. Explore the whole labyrinth, to find the 3 CLUES.
  4. Write down these clues as you come across them!
  5. Get to the middle of the labyrinth and drop down
  6. Complete the second level of the labyrinth and press the button at the end
  7. Take the piece of paper with the FINAL CODE (write this down too!)
  8. Get back to spawn and start solving the 3 CLUES to get the 6 CODEWORDS.
  9. Once you have the 6 CODEWORDS, mail them to JohnsanGeezo with the FINAL CODE
  10. Wait for JohnsanGeezo to respond, to claim your prize!

Should you be members of both of these realms, both treasures will be yours!

Good luck intrepid adventurers! Your fortune awaits!

The LC Modded Server has a new modpack!

Over the last couple of days we’ve refreshed the LC Modded server with a brand new modpack, All The Mods 9: To The Sky! It’s already seen a massive amount of play, so it should be a popular one, especially as we’re launching in to the school holidays this weekend!

The big difference this time around is that the world is a skyblock world, so every player has their own island, 4,000 blocks away from each other! ATM9TTS is a modpack that has a massive amount of mods to explore – enough for every type of modded player. There’s technology, magic, farming, building, boss battles, grinding and a whole lot more.

Some of the bigger mods included are Create 6, Powah, ForceCraft, AE2, Botania, Thermal Series, Mekanism, Immersive Engineering, Croptopia, Ars Nouveau, Pipez, Sophisticated Backpacks & Storage, Dank Storage, Chipped, Waystones, Mystical Agriculture, Easy Villagers, Modular Routers and a lot more.

It sounds like a lot to figure out, but there’s a massive quest system that goes into every one of the mods, so it’s also good for the new players.

We’ve also got Simple Voice Chat installed, so you can add that to your modpack manually too, or just use the LibraryCraft Discord voice channels.

There’s some important entry requirements which can be found at the LCModded page, but it’s going to be a lot of fun!

LC is BACK – April Competition Extended to 9am 1 May!

Sorry for the delay everyone! The server is back – given we lost precious time working on finishing April’s competition, the April competition world will be left open until 9am tomorrow morning, May 1st.

Thanks for your patience!

Sorry folks, the server is currently being worked on in the background, so won’t be available to play on for the next little while. We’re working on it and will update this post when we know more!

An Extra Creative Competition? With big prizes!

We’ve got some more funds in the budget before the end of the financial year as we couldn’t make it to Pixel Expo, so we thought we’d pass it on to our players in the form of a big End of Financial Year Creative Competition!

It’s going to be a bit special – here’s what you need to know.

  • There is no set theme! Build your best whatever!
  • The plots are bigger – 100×100 in fact!
  • The prizes are also bigger! JB Hifi Vouchers for the top three:
  • There’s more time to build! The competition opens Monday morning April 14th and will be open until 9pm Monday June 30th. That’s over 2 months to build!

A new gate will be opened up at the Creative Competitions area in the Creative Lobby.

There’s also some important extra information:

  • Only completed builds will be judged – it’s worth finishing them and you have plenty of time! In order to be deemed completed, you’ll need to do THREE things:
    1. Finish your build!
    2. Submit your entry by sending a /mail to JohnsanGeezo in Survival. It won’t work on Creative – you MUST be in 121Survival! Use /mail send JohnsanGeezo [message]. If you have Discord, you can open a ticket. Remember – these should be submitted AFTER you have completed your build, not before!
    3. There must be a lectern on the corner of your build plot with a book containing the description of your build. The description doesn’t have to be massive, but it needs to describe what you intended to build.
  • Each completed build will be awarded two points in the main Emerald Points Creative Competition. Those two points may be all the difference to get you onto the podium!

What about the Builder Role players?

We’ve not forgotten about you! Our four current Builders – Meowlicky, CopperJay, Smaug12345 and JtripleM are eligible to build in it as well, but with a few differences:

  • Instead of building on a plot 100×100 plot, each builder will get a length of the border of the world, around 500 or 600×100 blocks in size. You can see them in the image above.
  • Don’t panic yet! We’re not asking you to build five plots! We’d like you to build something but it needs to be tileable. It can be up to 100 blocks wide (or less if you really want), but it needs to be able to seamlessly tile along your stretch of border. When your build is complete (let us know in the Builder’s Discord channel), we will then copy your entire build and tile it edge to edge along your stretch of border!
  • Completed Builder rank builds will be judged separately, with the winner getting a different prize.
    • 5x diamond blocks
    • 2x megacrate keys
    • The winning builder build gets to choose August’s Creative Competition theme!

We’re getting some special visitors!

Huge news everyone! This Saturday we’re getting some very special visitors to LibraryCraft.

A while ago I reached out to PearlescentMoon from Hermitcraft, asking if she wanted to visit LibraryCraft and have a tour. It’s been over a year since I emailed, but last night I got a response! She’s going to be visiting us on Saturday morning around 11am, and apparently she’ll try to bring a friend or two!

If you want to say hi and maybe even get a photo with them (online of course), get online on Saturday!

Visit the Medieval Fair!

To bring in the Christmas Holidays, we’ve brought a Fair to LibraryCraft! The Medieval Fair is home to a selection of vanilla minigames and it’s open right now!

The minigames on offer are:

  • an Elytra course
  • a Boat race track
  • Archery challenge
  • Hide and Seek in the massive castle, and
  • Medieval Parkour!

Parkour is the only one that is controlled by a plugin – the rest are vanilla only, with everything being BYO – bring your own boat, elytra, bows and arrows. It’s inventory linked to 121Survival.

If you can think of any other vanilla games you’d like to see on this world, let us know! The gate to it is at the south end of 121Spawn.

The 121Survival Trade Hall is OPEN!

We’re happy to announce that the 1.21 Survival Trade Hall is now open for business! We’re going a little bit different this time around, but it’s sure to still be a lot of fun.

To be a part of it you’ll need two things:

  • 1x Shopkeeper Egg (1 Diamond Block)
  • 1x Shop Plot (FREE)

The shopkeeper eggs can be purchased from the villager’s stand by the front gate of the Trade Hall. You’re limited to one Egg per player. While it is possible to purchase more, they won’t be able to be used, so you’re just wasting a diamond block – there’s no refunds. When you hold the egg, it will give instructions in chat what to do. Make sure you read them carefully. The shopkeeper will also be selling invisible item frames – 2 diamonds for 16.

Once you have an egg, grab a plot – just like claiming a plot in the Creative competitions, right click a sign. You will need to make sure you have the appropriate amount of diamonds in your inventory. There’s two options:

  • A pre-made stall in the centre – these are smaller and perfect for those players that don’t want to build a fancy shop, but rather want to pop down a chest and a shopkeeper with minimal decoration. We ask that if you choose one of these, you only make minimal changes to the stand itself. Please do not remove it entirely! If it is changed completely, we will ask you to change it back.

Note that the centre podium in the image above will be for the Dragon Slayer statue.
  • Larger storefronts are also available for those that want a bit more room. The interior of these is able to be built up, however the existing structures (interior walls and roof) can be modified on request. The outside shopfront can have a sign or two added if you ask nicely too. These won’t be able to be done by you, but JohnsanGeezo can assist with this, as long as you provide the parts!

Importantly, by choosing these ones, you’re agreeing you’re going to put in a bit of work into decorating it! This is not the option for a chest and shopkeeper. If we need more plots, more will be created underground.

You can only get one plot. If you are caught with more than one, it will be removed without warning or refund.

To assist with your decorative needs, the first shop is now open for business! Johnsan is able to be hired to do Custom Armour Statues for a fee. This is the same mod that Hermitcraft uses in Season 10, so there’s a lot more options when it comes to sizes! These are available for shop plots and base builds. More information is in store too.

The Chamber Cave has opened!

We’re only a day into 1.21Survival and there’s already a big buzz of excitement with a new map and everything it brings! Now that we’re under way, it’s time to introduce the Chamber Cave.

As we’ve said before, nine trial chambers close to spawn have been protected from destruction and can be run when you like, but first they need to be unlocked! In these protected chambers, you won’t be able to place or break blocks, but will be able to interact with the mobs and vaults.

Located at 121Spawn, the Chamber Cave contains the gates to these nine trial chambers, but they’re not open yet. For each chamber gate, 12 players will need to submit items from a specific theme. Some will be easy to gather, others harder. Once the submissions from each player have been fulfilled correctly, the gate will be opened by staff for the trial chamber to be played! The next gate’s items will then be published not long after.

Check the gate frame for the ingredients you’ll need to submit. The player indicators will be updated regularly so you know who is submitting items, and if they’re done.

Rules:

  • Don’t submit more than you need to! It’ll just be wasted.
  • Each player should only submit when you have ALL the items you need to submit yourself. It makes it easier for the mod team to manage!
  • Don’t submit wrong items.
  • Players cannot submit more than one lot.

As an example, the first gate has the theme of Agriculture!

12 players will need to submit the following EACH:

  • 10 Copper blocks
  • 20x Hay blocks
  • 30 Bamboo
  • 30 Pumpkins OR 20 Melons

So collect everything you need, head to the Chamber Cave and drop them in the chest in the centre. Once 12 players have submitted everything they need, the gate will open and the trial chamber will be able to be run!

Any questions, just ask in Discord or in game!

LibraryCraft is now on 1.21!

Yep! We’re updated and ready to go! It’s been a bit of a longer process this time around, but it’s sure to be worth it. Please note that we’re on version 1.21, not 1.21.1. That’ll come soon, as we’re still waiting on a few plugins to sort themselves out.

There’s a couple of little things we’re still preparing and there’s going to be some teething issues from time to time, so please be patient with us. The most important thing you can do is tell us! If you see something that’s not quite right, please let us know in a Discord ticket, or in game if you don’t have Discord.

A few things to note:

  • The Nether will not be accessible yet – just settle in and explore the map. Find a spot to build and get a bit of a plan together! We’ve not set a date for the Nether or the End yet. This is to stop speedrunners and encourage everyone to take their time. They’ll come, but give them time.
  • The /tpr command, the Daily and Mega crates are set up and ready to go in 1.21 Survival, but we can only have one world with them, so they will no longer work in 1.20 Survival.
  • We’ve got a few new things to announce too! Firstly, the old CustomHeads plugin hasn’t been updated in some time, so we’ve replaced it with a new one. The command to get your custom heads is now /headdb. The old /heads command should now be blocked. You can also do a search for a head by using /hdb s to find the head you want! There’s over 50,000 to choose from.
  • We’ve started work on the Trade Hall (located in the heart of the Spawn area this time), but we’re not quite ready to go with it yet. It’s going to be opening in the next few weeks.
  • New to 1.21Survival, you’re now able to bottle your XP! More information on that is available at 121Spawn.
  • Both the Daily and Mega Crates have had some changes to them, with some big new additions! There’s even a chance to get an elytra in the Mega Crate!
  • We’re wanting to encourage building bases closer to 121Spawn this time around, but we ask that you don’t create pointless pillars nearby – they impact screenshots that we take during the course of the year for promotion. If you’re building closer to spawn, take your time with your bases and make them look amazing! We know you can. We’ll be creating some pathways that lead directly into Spawn.
  • Lastly, we’ve claimed the closest nine Trial Chambers so they don’t get decimated by players wanting Copper. Copper is easy to get, so just get it the old fashioned way – leave Trial Chambers alone to be run by others again and again. The nine claimed Trial Chambers will be available to play, but we’ve included an interesting Survival based unlock mechanic. This will be open in the coming days!

Finally, a massive thanks to the build team for creating our new Amsterdam inspired 121Spawn! A huge shout out to Meowlicky, CopperJay & JohnsanGeezo for getting stuck in. It looks insane! Easily our best spawn yet. Extra thanks to Meowlicky for getting the design and layout started!
