January Creative Competition – Skylands

We’re only a few days away from a new year, which means a brand new competition! The slate has been wiped clean. To kick off 2022 we’re asking you to build in the sky, with a floating island!

Rules

  • All building is in Creative Mode
  • Builders must use ONE plot only
  • All building must be done on the January Comp Map
  • Designs must be your own
  • Single player entries only – no team builds

Judging will happen during the first week of February.

The January Comp world gate – located in the Creative Lobby – will replace the December gate which will close to building at 9pm on Friday December 31st.

The gate will open in the Creative Lobby on the morning of January 1st, so get planning and designing now – you’ll only have a month to build.

November Hollywood Competition Results

The year is almost over! We’ve got a lot of exciting things to come in the next month or so, with school holidays, a major update and general December busyness, but for now, let’s concentrate on the November results. We went with Hollywood, asking players to recreate a scene from their favourite movie or TV show.

1st Place: _pluto_9

Taking out two months in a row, Pluto has gone for an older film – Stand By Me from 1986. There’s a very exciting train chase scene, and it’s been built here really well! The faces used are excellent. Well done Pluto!

2nd Place: Kursed7280084

Kursed has gone with an iconic film that’s instantly recognisable from 2003 – Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Building the Tower of Orthanc, this is a really imposing build and the surrounding areas look great. It would have been awesome to see this tower even bigger, but it’s a bit hard with a small plot! Well done Kursed.

3rd Place: LOUDCAMEL

Formerly known as CountDoDoDoDo, LOUDCAMEL has gone biblical with his build, from the 1996 animated film The Prince of Egypt. In particular, the 10 Plagues scene. I love how the plagues have been represented! This one was fun to walk around and explore.

Honourable Mention

Just the one honourable mention this round, with players scoring some votes, but not enough to make the top three.

December Creative Competition – Aussie Christmas

It’s almost Christmas! Where has this year gone? This December we want to see your interpretation of an Aussie Christmas. What does Christmas mean to you? How do you celebrate it? What do you think of when you think “Aussie Christmas”?

October Aquarium Competition Results

And that’s October! Not as many entries this month, but still some incredible ones! On to the winners.

1st Place: _pluto_9

Pluto has created a multi-storey aquarium just full of amazing STEM references, biomes and information, with plenty of stories to boot. It was so much fun exploring this one!

2nd Place: __B4CON

King of the name changes, B4CON is back with a beautiful domed aquarium. The colours in here were stunning!

3rd Place: CountDoDoDoDo

Going a bit of a different route, Count has gone with a water park ride called the Aqua Slide, with a slide going through an aquarium! That’d be a ride I’d love to go on!

November Creative Competition – Hollywood

November has crept up on us. This year is just flying by! We want you all to build a scene from your favourite movie or TV show.

There’s a couple of extra bits of information that are super important:

  • When claiming your plot, please place a sign near the plot sign to reserve your chosen show or movie.
  • You cannot choose a movie or show that has been chosen already. Get in quick! Any disputes can be settled by the mod team, to see who placed their sign first.

The Weekly Starter Pack Giveaway

Ever wanted some good loot just for playing LibraryCraft? Well, thanks to one of our very generous players, now you can! Thanks to __f0rk (and an awesome idea from Noodles), we have 10 loot shulker boxes filled with some serious loot.

There’s some serous goodies in here! Each week we’ll be giving one of these away to a lucky player for use in NewSurvival. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Send a mail to JohnsanGeezo using /mail send JohnsanGeezo <message>, with the word IN.
  • You will need to send a new mail EACH WEEK to be considered for that weekly draw.
  • Log at least three (3) hours of play in LibraryCraft (in any server – Survival, Creative or Minigames)
  • Weekly play periods start on Monday and end on Sunday.
  • Every Monday the competition will be drawn for the previous week.

Note that the minimum play hours may change each week. The hours required will be displayed in the announcement in game each week. It will also be possible to win multiple weeks. Winners will be chosen by random selection using a random generator.

The first weekly giveaway period will start on Monday October 25th!

School Holiday Pairs Creative Competition Results

We’re well and truly into Term 4 now, and we’ve seen a lot of action on the Pairs Creative Competition World over the break! After a week of deliberation, here are the results!

1st Place: _f0rk & _pluto_9

There is so much in this build, and it’s so much fun to walk through! It just keeps going up!

2nd Place: cramskii & __keq

Going high as well, this build has one of the most stunning trees I’ve ever seen. The hanging roots coming down are incredible.

3rd Place: Countdodododo & _Typed

The axolotl temple is great, but the tentacles and detail on the large glow squid is something else.

September Enchanted Garden Competition Results

We’re getting close to the end of the year – September is over already! We’ve had some absolutely stunning entries for the Enchanted Garden competition, so here are the results.

1st Place: _f0rk

_f0rk is back on top again with this absolutely beautiful mushroom house, with a secret underneath! It’s very Sims-esque. I love it.

2nd Place: _pluto_9

Pluto’s Hobbit Hole is amazing, with giant flowers and a really well laid out garden, including a very detailed interior.

3rd Place: cramskii

After some time away from competitions, cramskii is back with a beautiful garden with a river. I love the colour choices here. So calming.

School Holiday Pairs Creative Competition

As some of you may be aware, we’re in the process of migrating the current server over to a Bungeecord network – essentially, it’s three servers networked together. Players will only see one server when they log in, but it’ll be three sharing the load. Each will be responsible for a major aspect of the server – Survival, Creative and Minigames. It’ll mean we’re able to give a better experience for players, and will give us more room to expand. It’s a lot of work, but it’s very exciting! We’re almost there, but there’s a few final things to do.

Let’s talk School Holidays though. As we’ll hopefully be only just on the new LibraryCraft Network (the LCN) we’ve decided to not run a BedWars tournament this school holidays. This is so we can properly assess how the LCN is performing, without putting a potentially massive load on it when we absolutely need to depend on it. We’d rather see how it goes in regular play first.

We’re not leaving you with nothing though! What we’ll be doing during the entire school holidays is something a lot of you have been asking for – a Pairs Creative Build Competition. Here’s the information you need to know.

When: Saturday 25th September to Sunday 10th October 9pm
Theme: Free Build – build whatever you like!
Prizes: 1x $50 JB HiFi Voucher per winning player (plus diamonds for the top three teams – amount still to be decided).
No more than two (2) players per team.
